MOCHEN PSP Scanner
The dental image plate scanner, also known as a PSP scanner, is primarily used for periapical radiography of 1 to 4 teeth, enabling visualization of caries extent, periapical inflammation, and root canal filling quality.
The radiolucent area (black zone) circled around the root apex on the radiograph indicates periapical inflammation. Root canal therapy is recommended to eliminate the source of infection .
The radiopaque filling material within the tooth after root canal therapy indicates obturation quality. In this radiograph, the white filling material completely fills the root canal space, meeting the criteria for definitive root canal therapy.

Recommended exposure dose settings for X-ray machines when using Inpixel / MOCHEN PSP scanners in "Fine" mode || "Standard" mode
Note:
1. The indicated standard values are a recommendation, the dentist determines the individual setting
of the exposure values. Different X-ray machine brands vary in structural design, and multiple factors
affect radiation dose. Actual exposure time settings should be determined through practical testing.
2. The above table shows the standard values for the exposure time of a PSP for an adult patient. For
patients with non-standard body habitus (underweight or overweight), moderate dose adjustments
should be applied accordingly.
3. Children are more sensitive to radiation than adults. Keep the exposure parameters as low as
possible taking into consideration the image quality. For pediatric patients, we recommend reducing
the exposure time by approximately 0.05 seconds compared to adult settings.
4. When all other parameters remain constant, the X-ray tube length also affects radiation dose. If the
tube length is more than 14cm, the dose should be increased accordingly. Specific adjustments should
be determined through actual measurement.
